Ridgway MTB rides

The “Quarry trails” are about 8 miles of great singletrack across from the state park. Go to the Ridgway Trails website to download a map.

The Ridgway State Park also has some great trails. Check out the Ridgway State Park website for more information.

Epic Backcountry MTB Rides

The Dallas trail can be accessed at a couple of different locations creating rides from one hour up to 4 1/2 hours.

1.) In my opinion the best section starts at the Blue Lakes trail and heads West. Take 62 up toward Telluride and then take a left on CR 7. Follow this road back to the parking lot for the Blue Lakes trail. Just before entering the parking lot you will see a jeep track heading up to your right. This will be the way up to the trail after you park. This is a good ride as an out and back.

You will be treated to some spectacular remote riding and unforgettable views along the way!

2) Elk Meadows to Ouray- Take CR5 out of Ridgway to the Forest Service boundary. Continue down this road and you will find the Dallas trail, head East to Ouray. Descent into Ouray is VERY steep! One way ride-best to shuttle if possible. Bring a map and be prepared for a 4hr or more ride in rugged backcountry. Better yet, have one of our guides take you on this!

Ouray MTB Rides

The Ouray Trail Group maintains a website about Ouray trails and conditions. You can also ride on many of Ouray’s famous jeep roads.  It’s best to do these in the early summer (June), and in the fall (September – October) as they get busy with jeep and ATV traffic in July and August.  Be sure to check road conditions, as snow can linger into July.
