Ridgway is central to some of the most beautiful road ridding in the country!. Here is a list of some of our favorite rides. Click on ride title for map.

Ridgway to Placerville (and back). This ride takes you out of town heading West on Hwy 62 (Towards Telluride). Head up and over the Continental Divide and descend off the back side to the intersection of Hwy 62 and CO 145.

There, turn left and go approx. 1 mile to the town of Placerville. Here you’ll find a small general store to resupply for the ride back. This ride has a 4ft+ shoulder for most of the ride.

Dallas Divide Summit

Distance: 47 mile

Climbing:3500 ft

Log Hill: This ride leaves from Ridgway and is a very peaceful 22 mile ride through the neighborhoods up on Log Hill.

Head West out of town on Hwy 62 then turn right on CR1, Follow this as it turns off to the left and joins onto CR24. Continue straight on this road as it begins the climb up to Log Hill (Turns back to CR1). Once on top continue straight back and look for a right turn into Fisher Canyon. Follow loop around to right and come back out onto CR1. Turn left and head back. Take left into Divide Ranch and Club. Ride through here (see map) then do the final loop through Log Hill before descending back to town.

Red Mountain Pass: This is the Queen ride for the area! Some might prefer to start this ride in Ouray to avoid the narrow section of hwy between Ridgway and Ouray which sees a lot of traffic traveling very fast.

Red Mountain Pass

From downtown Ouray simply head South out of town on Hwy 550. The ride to the summit is 13 miles and climb about 3500 ft. Once on top take your photo by the elevation sign then decide if you want to descend down into Silverton or turn and head back to Ouray

WARNING: This ride does spook some people. The road is very narrow and has no guard rails with a substantial drop down to the valley. That being said, traffic does go very slow and the speed limit is 25mph.
